By way of its internet-based training modules, the Hornemann Institute opens up new perspectives for continuing professional training of conservation specialists. The modules have been conceived for persons who are dedicated to cultural heritage preservation. You will be systematically encouraged to bring in and reflect your personal professional experience in a discerning way. Via Internet, you can retrieve the subject matters of your choice, irrespective of any temporal or geographical constraints, thereby avoiding time loss at work and saving travelling expenses.

Subject matters have been put into multi-media form, i.e., texts are enlivened by images, videos, animated graphics, checklists, etc. The didactic variety and the interactivity of these modules will boost your motivation.

The modules facilitate individual studying with regard to time management, learning speed and the depth of knowledge you wish to achieve.

You can check your personal progress with the help of tests. While solving test problems, you can use your acquired skills. Glossaries, bibliographical references and the integration of available Internet resources will supplement the teaching materials.

Tutors will assist you whenever you encounter technical or content-related difficulties.

Some of the Hornemann Institute's E-learning courses are presently only available in German. Distant students will be granted a Hornemann Institute certificate upon successful completion of the program and passing a final on-line examination. In case of need we can order to certify the certificate with the Apostille. For this service we must charge 30 Euro including all fees and postage.

For some of these courses credit points can be awarded for the study at the Faculty of Architecture, Engineering and Conservation. Information about The HAWK Study Programmes - Information for International Applicants (1,7 MB) you find here.

A flyer about e-learning is available for download here (2 MB).
