Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The waterpowered hydraulics of the castle of Ellwangen ( Baden- Württemberg ), dates back to the 16th century. A large number of components were replaced with modern parts around 1880. The study encompasses the illustration of the hydraulics by means of description, photography and drawings. Temperature and relative humidity of the plant room were measured in a long-term test to serve as a basis for a future preventive conservation. Additionally to this condition assessment investigations concerning the construction history of the hydraulics were emphasized. According to a preliminary elaborated conservation and restauration conception the removal of corrosion of formerly shiny iron components was tested.
