Abstract: By means of negatives from the twenties and thirties could flaking of the emulsion on glass plate negatives be attributed – in addition to the damage by a wrong disposition – too at a strong emulsion hardening. An influence of the raw edges was also visible. In work, the mentioned causes were determined and discussed both by investigations and with the aid of references. The possibility of restoration of negatives of the inheritance of the photographer Hans Finsler with solvent-based adhesives should then be considered be. Therefore, adhesives applied to photographic material not yet were subjected to the Photo-Activity-Test. In addition, the firmness of the adhesives was judged by means at the negatives. Therefore, a protection of the negatives which also included making out duplicate negatives was carried out.
