Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: On archaeological excavations it is often necessary to retrieve and lift finds. In this context different consolidating and / or stabilizing materials are employed. In this study the different processes which are used are shown in relation to one another. Furthermore the taking of samples from rescue materials will be looked into.
In order to make work in the field easier materials analysis tables have been compiled, as well as tables for applicable absolute and relative dating methods, all under the aspect of the frequency of fond materials occuring. In addition block liftings are investigated as to the long term effects on finds. Here the methodology, documentation and the materials used are considerd. The removed blocks are from excavations from the years 1993, 1996 and 1997. The objects which were examined were taken samples and objects consisting of many materials and in many combinations.
