Anne-Christine Henningsen (geb. Drexler): pH-measurements and capillary viscometry as a means to characterize textile painting supports Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: This thesis focusses on comparatively simple mens of chemical and physical characterization of textile painting support. Different ways of pH-measurements as well as tirimetric and viscometric analysis were applied to several 50 years old jute textils.
Standarized measurements were carried out to calibrate experiments with reduced sample size. The examination methods used were evaluated with respect to their applicability and efficiency to characterize small samples of painting supports.
