Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The topic discussed in the Bachelor-Thesis is about testing the effectiveness of Parachlormetakresol (PCMK; 4-chlor-3-methylphenol). A practicable and user-friendly method for treating different mouldy paperdocuments and books shall be developed. Twenty-eight objects, attected by mould, are steamed with the fungicidal. Therefore blotting papers/-boards are soaked with PCMK, soluted in ethanol. After evaporating of the dissolver, the absorbent material will be attached in different ways to the objects, afterwards wrapped in different airproof materials. Suggestions of practical application on different kinds of objects are given; especially those objekts, a book- and paper conservator can be confronted with in practice. After termination of the aeration, findings about the fungicidal effectiveness are gained.
