Julia Ribbe: Fluorescence of pigments - investigation about fluorescent behaviour of pigments revealing both the influences of bonding agents and of aging processes Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: In order to learn about the fluorescence of pigments, several tests were conducted in a way that revealed both the influences of bonding agents and of aging processes at the same time. The study mainly focused on zinc white. Furthermore, the study included lead white, titanium white, madder lack, alizarin, cadmiumred, vermilion, Prussian blue and ultramarine blue. The pigments were applied to samples both in pure form and bonded in linseed oil. In addition, zinc white was examined in connection with six other bonding agents. Fluorescence has been recorded visually, photographically, and by means of a fluorometer. The expertise about fluorescent behaviour gained from literature was included to complement the evaluation of the results
