Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The Psalter-Lectionary of the „Master of the Book of Hours of Eva of Nassau“ is examined in an art historical and the painting technique concerning view based on its illuminations. Afterwards they will be compared to two further Cologne manuscripts or their fragments from the 15th and 16th century, which were illuminated by the same illuminator. A new determination of it`s age and a localization of the manuscript will be made, as well as exposing the similarities and distinctions between the examined manuscripts. Furthermore a detailed description of the object and it`s damages, which almost completely relate to the collapse of the Historical Archive of the City of Cologne and on which a then created restoration concept is based and finally accomplished, will be given.
