Overview:

Abstract: The Protestant Church in Leichlingen and its inventory, which was hand-crafted mainly in the middle of the 18th century, is subject of the present thesis. The main focus is on the pews, which haven’t been studied up to now. At first the wooden inventory as well as the church building will be introduced shortly. Among the object history, which can be understood by wooden tool marks, the damages of the pews will be pictured by mapping of damages. Moreover there is a model restoration, which shows proposals for solutions for the most frequently damages. In order to reach an ideal climatic situation for the inventory, initial stages of a climate concept for the church interior are suggested.
