Overview:

Abstract: In the 19th century the defense against fire developed to a new level. In correlation to industrial mass production also movable fire-extinguisher were produced of which many still exist today. According to this the fire-engine made by the Jos. Beduwe company is not unique, but it still shows nearly the original surface coating. The condition of both coating and underground is examined and the agents of deterioration are detected. Based on this, a treatment proposal is developed, which is optimised by testing different methods of consolidating, cleaning and thining out layers of corrosion products.
