Abstract: The sculptures made of concrete from 1928 located on the Giebichenstein-Bridge in Halle (Saale) show a strong developed net of cracks. The alkali silica reaction between aggregate and concrete is to be seen as chief cause. To stop the reaction any influx of water has to be prevented. This should be done by crack grouting. Extensively surveys had been made with micro-cements based on granulated cinder (low content of alkali and the high sulphate resistance). Till this day the cracks move. Therefore the grouting material should be made more flexible to improve its durability. Polymere dispersions and the filler material Plastorit were used as modifications. Survey was made on handling of grouting material as well as their physico-mechanical and pore-properties.
