Overview:

Abstract: The former Wertheim factory building in the Lehrter Str. 35 in Berlin Moabit from 1911/12 is evidence of the artificial stone und stucco industry at that time. Proceeding decay of the decorative elements of the façade already resulted in substantial loss of material. The main focus of the work was on building anamnesis, material analysis, testing of cleaning methods for reduction of black crusts and development of applicable repair mortars for the artificial stone. Based on the afore-mentioned a concept for conservation was developed.
