Abstract: The following work discribes the situation of the storage of paintings and sculptures at Museum of fine arts und trade in Hamburg. Out of the inventory controll the actual state developes to an concept of longlife conservation and in care of cultural heritage of the museums collections. There are many points who plays an important rule like the storage situation, the objects on thereself, climate, archiving, security, the process of borrow treasure, staff and at least the financial possibility to optimize the situation of storage and objects. The exercise will be to find practical and realistic solutions in preventive conservation of the objects and the treasure in this storage, but in context to the requirement of the museum. The concept might be animation, impulse and support for future and success oriented work at the museum.
