Abstract: The paper presents the development of dying fresh wood from its discovery to its descent represents. The methods used throughout history for this are described in detail and explained their mode of action and the types of wood and dye formulas used. Still no closer examined staining methods are finally been reconstructed based on practical experiments. Thus, conclusions can be drawn on the effectiveness of former method.
