Overview:

Abstract: Abstract
In the following thesis suggestions for a presentation of the Chinese wallpaper “Blue landscape with figures“ of the Chinese Cabinet in the New Palace Potsdam are developed. Thereby the question is posed, if the wallpaper shall be presented as the original, as a copy in situ, or if the room shall be presented without the wallpaper. The discussion of the different possibilities of its presentation is based on conservational and aesthetic aspects as well the principles of the cultural heritage preservation, which are considered in the context of the composition and usage of the room. This thesis was written in cooperation with the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg, especially with the professional support of Dipl.-Rest. (FH) Irene Hesselbarth, leader of the special field paper restoration Potsdam.
