Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The Krahuletz-Museum in Eggenburg, Lower Austria, has a considerate collection with an estimate of over a million archaeological, earth science and folk-art objects. Similar to many regional museums, the storage facilities at the museum do not meet necessary basic con-servatorial standards and a reorganization of the storage is recommended.
The thesis suggests a practically oriented preventive conservation framework for the im-provement of the storage conditions and is based on storage- and collection analyses, as well as a risk assessment and combined condition survey. The preventive conservation frame-work is unique for the Krahuletz-Museum, but the approach can be employed at any other regional museum.
