Overview:

Abstract: This thesis is about the survey of two paintings with mold infestation from the St. Catherine‘s church in Brunswick. Among the technological survey of the objects with recording of the state of preservation, the mold infestation will be analyzed. To find out the cause of mold infestation we measure and analyze the spore concentration in the room air, the infestation activities, the airflows and the climatic conditions. Subsequently a treatment conception based on the knowledge gained is developed with focus on the mold problem. In addition it is recommended how the paintings are presented in the future.
