Melanie Sabine Lindner: Characterisation and identification of components of historical Mongolian Paper Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: Some Mongolian scientists assume that papers used in Mongolia were not only imported from China, Tibet
or Russia, but that there was a paper production in Mongolia itself. This presumption will be tested by
examining papers used in Mongolia for their components. The pH-value, bursting strength, tensile strength
and the changes while accelerated aging are examined to determine some characteristics of these papers.
Different kinds of cleaning methods are tested on two Mongolian papers with special regard to the problem
of several layers of paper glued together.
