Anke Dreyer: The examination, conservation and restoration of an adoration of the 14th century from St. Mary’s Church in Stendal / The style of robes of polychrome sculptures between 1280 and 1360 Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: „The adoration of the kings“ in Stendal is one of only a few conserved works of High Gothic in Central Germany. No technological examination has taken place so far. Besides the examination, the focus of this work was on conserving the fragments of polychromy and reducing coats and retouchings of foreign restorations. Due to the complexity of recognizing the style of the robes, examples of European sculptures from 1280 to 1360 have been analyzed in the theoretical part of the diploma thesis.
