Overview:

Abstract: The baroque mural picture was originated in 1627 and is a component of an epitaph which is ascribed to the founder and master glazier Franz Heintze. Basis for the conservation and restoration draught is an extensive analysis. Beside the description of the materials used and their processing it encloses the causes of the damaging mechanisms. Based on this analysis the conservation and restauration draught could be developed. The scientific-theoretical part argues with the present and future presentation of the wall picture and answers the following questions: How did the epitaph look originally? Which function had it in the Protestant religious context? And how did it come that the epitaph is preserved today only fragmentarily?
