Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The applicatory part of the diploma thesis on an angel used in the baptism deals with the analysis of the way the sculpture was manufactured und the condition it is in today. This analysis forms the basis for the plan of conservation and restoration of the work of art, which was in parts implemented during the diploma phase.
In many parts the paint is lost completely or is lying freely on the wooden subsurface. Today’s condition is furthermore negatively influenced by various cracks and the intense appearance of insects and microorganism.
The theoretical part deals with the ways cracks in wooden blocks can be handled.
