Abstract: The presented paper deals with methods, concerning the conservation of Eastern Bavarian Rosenheim Limestone. This material was used for building and sculpting mainly during 1860 and 1880 in the southern and eastern areas of Bavaria. Several varieties of the stone material are classified in this paper. Further on different types of deterioration are described and physical-mechanical data were worked out to create a model of damage.
Scaling turned out to be the main damage of the Rosenheim Limestone. Examinations with various organic and inorganic consolidants and filling materials were carried out to approach a conservation method for Rosenheim Limestone.
