Overview:

Abstract: This paper contains a conception for the uncovering and the conservation of the murals by Carl von Binzer in the new "Schloß Dölkau". The latest developments in techniques of restoration have been taken into account. Particularly those problems concerning the conservation of the plaster and the reinforcement of the coat of paint have had to be solved. Furthermore the examinations of the technological structure of the murals have been documented. Moreover trial work has been drawn in order to show the possibility of presenting the paintings. Here the main aspect was to convince the present owner of the palace of the autonomous value of the murals while those are partly in a rudimentary condition.
