Overview:

Abstract: Subject of this thesis is the restoration and conservation of a wall clock from the baroque period. The clock has become an archaeological object on the
basis of its individual history, and can be assigned to the former „Potsdamer Stadtschloss“. Investigations conducted, provided information about material, production techniques, damage and its causes. The corrosion products, which had formed under approximately defined conditions on various parts of the clock made of brass, were identified by X-ray diffraction. Depending on the planned presentation of the clock at an exhibition, measures of restoration were mainly limited to preserve the present state of the object.
