Overview:

Abstract: Being built at the end of the 14th century, the church’s decay over the past decades poses many problems to the preservation of its wall-paintings. This project introduces a possible way of preserving and restoring the paintings. Emphasis has been given to the fixation and consolidation as well as to research of the materials used and their film-developing characteristics, salt reducing measures and esthetic presentation. In addition, tests applying different active substances used in medical practice were done in order to discover a biocide for treating the fixation and consolidation remedies.
