Overview:

Abstract: This work provides a technological analysis of the textile wallpapers in the parlour of ''Schloss Ahlsdorf'', Brandenburg/ Germany. The findings contribute to the research on less investigated baroque textile wallpapers. Because of the various paintings, which show the wide spectrum of genrepainting of the 18th century, the textile wallpapers giving evidence of the view of baroque and rococo.
The analysis is focussed on the condition of preservation. This can be seen exemplarily at the northern wall of the parlour, where the textile wallpaper has been badly damaged by water. Based on the results the developed concept of treatment can be used basically for the other wall papers in that room.
