Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The subject of this thesis is the examination of several consolidants for volcanic tuff in Saxony. The examined volcanic tuff varieties are “Rüdigsdorfer” and “Hilbersdorfer” porphyry-tuff. For the consolidation of the varieties of porphyry-tuff there were used a silicate ester Funcosil® KSE 100, an ethyl silicate Funcosil® KSE 300E, an acrylic resin solved in a ketone and a silica- nanosole Sebosil® S.
The examinations fundamentally aim at the definitions of optical, pore-volume and physico- mechanical characteristics.
The results extend the previous characteristics of the both volcanic tuff varieties and inform about possibilities and limits of the consolidation of volcanic tuff.
