Touring exhibition around the Mediterranean

The international exhibition "Saving Cultural Heritage. Projects around the Mediterranean", which, organized in the framework of the "Euromed Heritage" programme of the European Union, had been presented during EXPO 2000 in the Roemer- und Pelizaeus-Museum in Hildesheim, subsequently went on a tour through some of the participating countries. The exhibition panel texts on the walls were translated into English, French and Arabic.

19 computer terminals allowed the visitors to retrieve videos and CD-ROMs about the conservation projects as well as general information about the cultural heritage of the participating countries and information about the associated work of the European Commission.

A new edition of the catalogue, comprising 300 pages, appeared in English and in French.

The tour started in the three Maghreb states Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, followed by Cyprus and Turkey.
Time: December 2001 to August 2002

The project was financed by the European Commission.
