Zusammenfassung: The “Old” city hall of Untereisenheim is one of the oldest secular buildings of the town. Like many other town halls in Franconia it was built in the second half of the 16th Century. According to latest research, much of the original features in the Council Chamber are retained, despite numerous alterations. Ceiling and wall paneling were painted several times and partially changed, but are still largely from the construction period.

This makes the council chamber to an important document of the construction and life of the 16th Century. Therefore, all efforts should be made to preserve this gem.

In addition to the documentation of the current state of the equipment of the Council Chamber in the "Old" Town Hall of Untereisenheim, this work suggests and discusses different approaches to conservation.
