Zusammenfassung: The thesis deals with the development of a restoration technique for the removal of pressure sensitive tapes on gelatin silver glass plate negatives.
The adhesive moves into the gelatin layer and leads there to irreversible oxidative deterioration. The pressure sensitive tapes were analyzed by optical, physical and chemical spot tests to find out the material components of the tapes and their corresponding types of deterioration. This knowledge is the basis for the development of a restoration technique for the removal of pressure sensitive tapes.
The removal of the pressure sensitive adhesive is difficult because of the delamination of the gelatin image-carrying layer from its glass support as well as glass deterioration of the plates.

These phenomena were described in a short way. Afterwards some restoration techniques were carried out on selected glass plate negatives owned by the Focke-Museum Bremen. Finally a summary about drawbacks and opportunities of the removal of adhesives complete the thesis.
