| Zusammenfassung: | The artistically valuable epitaph donated by the family Mahrenholtz, situated in the chapel of Mary of the Dome in Halberstadt, has suffered major damages. These damages are due, in large part, to past influences. Research has been undertaken to ascertain if any of these influences are still active and if any new influences may be contributing to an aggravation of the epitaph’s state. To further pursue questions that could not be answered by this research a concept for long-term Monitoring has been developed. Proposals for restoring and conserving the epitaph’s condition have been put forward. |
