Zusammenfassung: The farmhouse with the vulgar name "Moar" or "Moarhof" in Axams, Tyrol forms an essential element for the townscape of the community due to its exposure near the center. The facade paintings on two representative wall surfaces of the Moarhof are to be classified originally in the late 18th century and were heavily revised in the second half of the 20th century in a last restoration. Through its exposure as well as historical background, the object not only experiences the appreciation of Axams’ community, but also presents the handling of freely weathered profane wall paintings in the Tyrol region in the 20th century. Due to the past extensive, traditional to reconstructive motivated restaurations, only restorative findings can determine the amount of preserved historic painting layers and statements made about the further handling of the objects. Using the example of the facade design of the Moarhof, the diploma thesis follows the findings and conceptualization as well as the discussion of a further restorative and monument preservation treatment of the wall paintings.
