During the conference, the so-called "Lichtungen" takes place, a wonderful festival of light art with international artists. After the lectures, you can stroll free of charge through Hildesheim and rediscover historical buildings in the new light. In 2015, the festival attracted 60,000 visitors.

We recommend a visit of the both UNESCO world cultural heritage churches St Michael's Church and St Mary's Cathedral with Dommuseum and its medieval cathedral treasure. The Roemer- und Pelizaeus-Museum is known worldwide for its important collection of ancient Egypt and for its special exhibitions.
