Abstract: The thesis gives an insight into the possibilities and problems of vacuum-pressing technology. In this field the main emphasis is on positive and negative qualities of this technology. Vacuum-pressing technology is compared to standard pressing methods based on different tests. These tests show a trend but they are not representative. Finally, the effectiveness of vacuum-pressing technology as a tool for conserving wooden objects was examined.
