Abstract: This theses shall elaborate a concept for the conservation of the german silent movie „Rübezahls Hochzeit“ from Paul Wegener made in 1916 including a new color copy.
The base for the conservation are different positive and negative copies preserved in the Bundesarchiv-Filmarchiv, Berlin and the Stiftung Deutsche Kinemathek, Berlin. Their completeness, their cutting sequence and their technical condition are compared. Copies from other archives and secondary sources are considered.
