Overview:

Abstract: In these studies the effectiveness of innovative new products, in correlation with carrara-marble, were tested. Two products are based on calciumhydroxidsol in alcohol ant two of ethyl silicates. Because of the problems in the special case of penetration of marble objects with hardening products, some different sample series were carried out.
All products were tested on samples of loose marble grain material with no adhesive action between the grains. They should demonstrate fields of extreme damaged stone material. Other samples were produced out of a mixture from loose grains and parts of a marble plate. In this line the possibilitiy of the connection between weak and loose parts and the intact heart of the stone should be reconsidered while usind the hardening product. The main series was made of artificial desintegrated carrara-marble samples that were soaked with the products.
The effectiveness and their influence on the physical attributes of the stone were tested using usual investigation methods.
