Overview:
Abstract: In the field of eco-toxicology bioassays are being used to analyse active components and mixtures of materials since the sixties of the 20th century. Carrying out these tests under standardised conditions allows for acute as well as chronic toxicities to be detected. As a possible supplement to chemical analysis bioassays are also of great interest to conservators.
Content of this work is to determine the applicability of an aquatic quick test for contamination analysis of wooden artistical and cultural artefacts. After the basic principles and work instructions for the luminescense bacteria test are developed they are used in several tests under lab conditions. A special focus is laid on the examination whether the contamination of wooden objects caused by preservatives can be detected. For this purpose screening test methods are designed for objects charged with pentachlorophenol.
