Overview:

Abstract: This work represents a basic principle for a program for a computer- assisted microscopic determination of marquetry timbers. It deals with the fundamental literature research as well as its analysis and evaluation.
At first a definition of term marquetry and a short historical and technological overlook to the marquetry in Germany will give an introduction to this article.
Finally European marquetry timbers composed in a table will complete this part. The second part of the article at hand treats regulation possibilities and general wood anatomical features.
At last the marquetry timbers European barberry, Lilac, Golden Chain and Common Spindle will be described microscopically.
Consequently results are on the one hand the denomination of the applied European marquetry timbers and on the other hand the description of a selection of marquetry timbers. Further details out of descriptions from applied historical sources were summarized and added to the finished description.
The thesis is closed by propositions for a modification of a program for a computer- assisted microscopic determination of marquetry lumbers and of regulation possibilities on object.
