Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:
Abstract: Referring to the example of the Altona Museum playing card collection in Hamburg this paper deals with drawing up and the implementation of a conception how to improve storage of a collection.
Included are local preserving conditions, examination, categorization and how the documentation of the playing card collections is listed. Main concern is to find a concept of a perfectly preserving storage and its implementation. Conserving the objects by preventive measures in terms of protective boxes, climate observation and educating the museum staff led to a significant improvement of the entire condition of the collection, with the effect that conservation of the playing cards is guaranteed. Additionally optimizing the search system improved the handling.
