Overview:

Abstract: In this thesis the film jacket of Michael J. Fox from the movie “Back to the future II” is presented in detail. Here, the text can be divided into two parts. The material-specific part deals with rubber materials, the main component of the jacket. Various rubbers are presented as possible materials and their properties are characterized. A large proportion has the study of aging reactions. The specific conservation part is based on the structure of a documentation. It includes the detailed description of the object, the recording of damages and the analysis of the materials. This will finally end up in creating a conservation concept and an outlook on a further preservation of the object.
