Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The cup collection from the estate of Heinz Beck at the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum, Ludwigshafen is particularly unique as the cups were created by national and international artists on request by the collector. The cups dating from the 1960s and 1970s consist of a wide range of materials in various combinations. For this thesis the cup collection was examined from a conservation point of view for the first time. The data gathered were recorded in database built for this purpose. In addition, recommendations for the long term care, storage and exhibition of the collection – with regard to the specific needs of mixed media objects – will be presented.
