Farina Bebenek: he effects of different pulse durations on paint layers – Comparative study with picosecond and nanosecond laser pulses Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The use of ultra-short pulse laser systems for cleaning and uncover polychromatic surfaces is being explored. It reviews the characteristics and effects of laser radiation. Based on research application limitations of short-pulse laser systems and laser induced reactions of pigments and binders are highlighted. Trials with paint layers allow for the comparison of the interaction mechanisms and laser-induced effects of nanosecond and picosecond pulse durations. The results indicate significantly stronger chemical reactions and modified behaviour to ultra-short pulse durations regarding thresholds and ablation mechanisms of paint and soil layers.
