Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The baroque high altar of the Dominican church in Münster is special, because of its stylistic and artistic uniqueness. In Nordrhein-Westfalen comparable objects are hard to find. The altar, which originally came from Paderborn, offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to study and analyse the methods and techniques, which were used to build a baroque high altar in Westfalen. This study is about the history of the high altar, the original stratigraphy as well as the subsequent treatments, the current condition and the development of a concept for the conservation. Moreover offers are made for a concept for an adequate climatisation in the immediate environment of the high altar.
