Abstract: This bachelor thesis is the compilation of the content of emergency kits as part of the emergency preparedness, adapted to the needs of the urban archive of Hildesheim.
Considered will be the most likely damage scenarios and the nature and extent of the records. The boxes should include: protective clothing, materials for documentation, tools for safeguarding and stemming the risk zone, packing materials and materials for personal security.
A comparison between standardized emergency kits of current providers and a cost report of the materials that are specially adapted to the purpose in the urban archive of Hildesheim, provide information on the costs and benefits in the compilation of the content of need-based emergency kits.
It will also determine the best possible locations for the boxes in the urban archive of Hildesheim.
In addition, the thesis contains recommendations regarding the information materials - checklist for documentation, telephone- and addresslists, written instructions for dealing with wet records - that should be included in an emergency kit, the maintenance of the materials in the boxes and the nomination of a person who is responsible for this.
