Abstract: This master’s thesis focuses on the interior and exterior of the sacristy of Zittow’s village church which belongs to the Evangelical-Lutheran parish Zittow-Retgendorf in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In a first step archived data concerning the church and especially the sacristy, which is situated on the north-ern side, is collected and analyzed. Subsequently, phenomenological studies regarding the present conservation status of the sacristy are conducted. It ap-pears that there are two polychrome color schemes on the interior distinguisha-ble. The first scheme presents a colour abstract which due to less exposed are-as, is not iconographically and therefore neither chronologically classifiable. The second scheme shows a tendrils painting, probably from the 19th century, in the transition areas between the vault and the walls. Between these paint covers are located numerous overcoatings and repair periods. After a detailed qualitative as well as quantitative documentary of the painting and the plaster inside and out-side and the existing damages, which is based on a purposeful sample extraction and a scientific examination of the findings, a concept for the conservation and restoration is to be developed by means of these results.
