Overview:

Abstract: Main focus of the thesis is the consolidation of tiny lifted particles of alkyd paint on PVC-film from an inflatable object. The empirical determination of an appropriate consolidant is subject of the theoretical part. For the practical treatment of areas inside the air chamber a method was developed providing a precise application through the plug valve using magnets and a hose. Additionally, an appropriate binding medium for retouchings was defined, a surface cleaning was carried out and the PVC air chambers were sealed off.
