Overview:

Abstract: Volume I of the diploma thesis describes the conservation treatment of a canvas painting (19th century). The panting is part of the ancestral portrait gallery at Thammehain castle. One stretcher bar was broken and the support severely distorted . Furthermore, it showed a tear of nearly 30cm in lenght as well as losses of paint.
Volume II yields an inventory and an assessment of the paintings from the gallery, in order to reconstruct their original array and describe their condition.
