Franziska Träber: The examination and conservation of the baroque painting „Flora & Zephyrus“ Back
Language: Original   -   Translation
Abstract: This paper deals with the examination and conservation of a baroque painting of „Flora & Zephyr“ from private ownership. Questions of provenance were investigated. After being stored under adverse conditions, serious damages had occured on the canvas. Furthermore, the painting‘s appearance is impaired by overpainting. One focus of treatment lay on attempts of uncovering the original painting. However, as that objective could not be realized, this lead to an adaptation of the conservation proposal on treatment of the damaged canvas.
