Abstract: The following thesis is concerned with the council stall in the court arbor at the city hall of
Lüneburg, which is a creation by Snitker Warneken Burmester from 1594. By using a variety
of different examination methods the object is being analysed regarding its historical artistic
and cultural background, its composition concept, its condition as well as the applied
techniques of production and revision. The results are presented and described summrized
in a short concept of conservation and restoration.
