Language: Original   -   Translation
Overview:

Abstract: The diploma thesis focuses on a sculpture of the risen Christ formerly on top of the baroque altarpiece in the church of Reinberg, which was carved by Elias Kessler in 1725. Based on the analysis of the wooden sculpture, a conception for conservation was developed and has been partly realized. The focal point of the treatment lied on the stabilisation of the wooden support. After the consolidation of flaking paintlayers, younger overpaintings and a natural resin varnish were removed.
